I’ve recently completed a short film for Gifford Community Woodland to mark their many years of community ownership. You can watch the full 7 minute film here:
The project was a reminder of why I enjoy this work. Filming and editing are not just about pointing a camera, they’re about telling a story. In this case, I wanted to capture the value of the woods to the local community, the volunteers who give up their time, and the sense of place that makes it special.
It was a great project to work on as I had to create the entire film, from concept to script, filming, editing, and final cut myself. And that including using AI to help refine the script, showing how traditional skills and new tools can work together.
The film was shown at the Woodland Community AGM and went down well. I had lots of positive feedback from trustees and residents. For some it was a reminder of all the activities that take place in the woodland. For others it was a chance to see parts of the woods they hadn’t visited in a while.
This is the same approach I bring to client projects. Whether it’s a small business wanting a promotional video, a founder telling their story, or a team showcasing their services, I make the process easy and relaxed. No big set-up, no lights and make-up. Just simple, effective storytelling.
